Punishments & Appeals

Owning up early is always the shorter road.
Overview: Most players never need this page. But if you've been punished, or you're worried about what would happen if you slipped up, it's fair enough to want to know how it works.
The short version: we decide punishments case by case. There's no fixed list where a particular offence always earns a particular penalty. This page is the long version of what our Network Rules say about punishments.
How We Decide
When Staff look at an incident, they weigh up:
- How serious it was. Swearing once in frustration and deliberately targeting someone with hate speech are not the same thing, even though both come under the same rule.
- Whether it was deliberate. Accidents and misunderstandings happen, especially with newer players.
- Your history on the Network. A first slip after two years of playing well reads very differently to the fourth incident this month.
- What happened afterwards. Owning it and putting it right counts for a lot. So does the opposite.
This means outcomes vary, and that's intentional. It lets us be gentle where gentleness is right and firm where it isn't.
Possibly — they may have had a different history, or the context may have been different. We can't discuss another player's punishment with you, in the same way we wouldn't discuss yours with them.
What Punishments Look Like
Depending on severity, an outcome might be:
- A quiet word from a Staff Member
- A formal warning
- A mute, for chat-related issues
- A temporary ban
- A permanent ban
Some things sit at the serious end almost regardless of context — hate speech, doxxing, threats, anything that puts a younger player at risk, and attacks on the Network itself.
Griefing and Rollbacks
If you've been griefed, Staff can usually inspect what happened and roll the damage back. Report it rather than repairing it yourself — rebuilding over the top makes the logs harder to read.
The rollback and the punishment are separate. Getting your base restored doesn't mean nothing happened to the person responsible; we just don't discuss the details with you.
Ban Evasion
Coming back on another account while you're banned is treated seriously. It can result in all your accounts and your IP being banned, which is much harder to undo than the original punishment.
If your ban felt unfair, appeal it. That door is genuinely open, and it's a far better outcome than the alternative.
How to Appeal
You can appeal any punishment.
- Open a ticket on our Discord with
/support create, or email [email protected] if you can't access Discord. - Tell us your in-game name, roughly when it happened, and what you'd like us to look at again.
- Include anything relevant — screenshots, context, or simply your side of it.
What helps:
- Being straight about what happened, including the parts that don't flatter you
- Explaining context we might have missed
- Giving it a little time — appeals are read by a person, not a bot
What doesn't:
- Making the same appeal repeatedly
- Arguing about it in public chat
- Coming back on another account while you wait
If You Think a Staff Member Got It Wrong
Staff are people, and people make mistakes. If you believe you've been wrongly punished, or that a Staff Member has misused their position, we want to hear about it.
Email [email protected] or open a ticket on our Discord with whatever evidence or details you have. It goes to the Senior Staff Team.
Please raise it that way rather than in public chat. It gets a fairer hearing, and it's kinder to everyone involved — including you, if it turns out you were right.
Reporting Someone Else
If you've seen another player breaking the rules, see Safety Tools for how to report them.
Please don't call it out in public chat. Public accusations rarely help, they often escalate, and they can be very unfair to someone who turns out to have done nothing wrong.
