Gamemodes

Figure out how you win, then go win it.
Mixed runs on PGM, which supports dozens of gamemodes. Each map tells you its objective — check /map at the start of a round — and many maps are mixed, combining more than one of the modes below in a single match.
You won't see every one of these in rotation, but here's what each gamemode is and how you win it.
Objective Gamemodes
These are team-versus-team rounds built around a goal on the map. Most matches you play will be one of these.
| Gamemode | How you win |
|---|---|
| Destroy the Monument (DTM) | Break the enemy team's monument block(s) while protecting your own. |
| Destroy the Core (DTC) | Break through to the enemy core and make its lava leak out the bottom. |
| Capture the Wool (CTW) | Take wool from the enemy side and place it on your team's victory monument. |
| Capture the Flag (CTF) | Grab the enemy flag and return it to your base to score. |
| King of the Flag (KOTF) | Hold a central flag for your team instead of capturing an enemy's. |
| Flag Football (FFB) | Carry the flag into the enemy goal, football-style. |
| Control the Point (CP) | Capture and hold control points, which earn your team points every second. |
| 5 Control Points (5CP) | Control-point play across a line of five points, pushing toward the enemy's end. |
| King of the Hill (KOTH) | Capture and hold the hill; the first team to the score target wins. |
| Attack / Defend (A/D) | One team attacks a set of objectives against the clock; the other defends. |
| Payload | Escort a payload cart into enemy territory while they try to stop it. |
| Race for Wool (RFW) | Race the other team to collect and place your wools first. |
| Bridge | Carry your wool through the enemy portal before they do the same to you. |
Elimination Gamemodes
In these, staying alive matters. Run out of lives and you're out.
| Gamemode | How you win |
|---|---|
| Blitz | Everyone has limited lives; you're eliminated when they run out. Last team or player standing wins. |
| Blitz: Rage (BR) | Blitz, but every hit is lethal — one clean strike eliminates. |
| Bed Wars | Destroy enemy beds to stop them respawning, then wipe out the bed-less teams. |
| Skywars | Fight across floating islands with no respawns; last one standing wins. |
| Survival Games (SG) | Loot chests for gear, then outlast everyone else. |
| Infection | Survivors try to outlast the infected; the infected try to turn everyone. |
Combat & Score Gamemodes
Fast rounds decided by kills or points rather than a fixed objective.
| Gamemode | How you win |
|---|---|
| Deathmatch (TDM) | Teams rack up kills; the team at the kill or score limit (or ahead on time) wins. |
| Free for All (FFA) | No teams — every player is on their own. |
| Rage | One-hit-kill combat; melee drops opponents instantly. |
| Scorebox | Earn points by bringing items to, or standing in, your team's scorebox. |
Special Formats
| Gamemode | What it is |
|---|---|
| Mixed | A map that combines several of the objective types above in one round — the format the server is named after. |
| Arcade | A catch-all for unconventional, novelty maps that don't fit the standard modes. |
Not sure what the objective is?
Run /map for the current map's details and /proximity to see how close each objective is to being completed. The Command Reference covers both.
